BarLegal.es Launches: One Legal Licence for Live Sport and Music in Spanish Bars, Restaurants and Hotels

Málaga, Spain — 2 August 2026 — BarLegal.es, a new commercial venue licensing platform, today opened registration for Spanish hospitality venues seeking a single, legal way to show live sport and play commercial music.

The company begins its offering with the broadcasting rights to Liiga and Mestis, Finland's ice hockey leagues — content with very little competition in the Spanish market. This is especially relevant for Finnish-owned bars and restaurants in the Costa del Sol and the Canary Islands, which until now have had no legal way to show Finnish hockey to their customers. These venues have relied on either household-only licences — where commercial use is prohibited — or pirate IPTV services, where payment has gone to international criminal organisations.

From there, BarLegal expands its offering to LaLiga, the Premier League, the Champions League, Liga Endesa basketball, Formula 1®, MotoGP™ and commercial music — all under one contract and one bill.

Content rights agreements are already signed with XVI Sports (Liiga, Mestis), Mediapro/BarTV (LaLiga, Formula 1) and Soundtrack Technologies (commercial music).

Beyond its own licence, BarLegal.es also gives every registered venue clear, upfront guidance on the separate copyright obligations Spanish law requires toward collective rights bodies such as SGAE and AGEDI — obligations venues remain directly responsible for, but which BarLegal.es helps them understand rather than leaving them to work out alone.

Mesatech Systems S.L., the company behind BarLegal.es, is also developing its own AI-driven analytics software — an interactive second screen that generates additional data and revenue for the venue. The company is therefore not simply a licence reseller, but a technology product company.

Venues that register at barlegal.es/precios receive personal access to pricing within one business day, ahead of the upcoming season. Early registrants receive priority terms.

BarLegal.es also offers registered venues an optional upgrade called BarQuiz — an interactive second screen that runs live pub quizzes and advertising between matches, with revenue shared back to the venue.
